Iconic actor Harrison Ford was hospitalized after a plane crash near Santa Monica Airport. He was flying a WWII aircraft when the engine failed over a golf course and attempted to make an emergency landing. While surviving the crash, he suffered severe head lacerations and moderate trauma. His injuries are not considered life threatening.
Elaine Miller told KABC that Ford was speaking and “expressed that he was in pain.” She and others on site assisted him out of the plane and to safety.
“He had a significant head wound,” Miller said. “he asked someone to hold his legs up and people were just saying, ‘you’re okay, the fire department is on its way,’ and…once police and fire started to arrive, my friends and I sort of backed away and went to the other side of the course to give them room.”
Harrison Ford has had several crashes in the past, one in a helicopter and another in a six-passenger plane.
